現在、４年間の研究計画のうち１年目を終えたところである。包括的BMS評価ツール（Burning Mouth Syndrome Assessment Tool : BMSAT）のうち、主観的症状の測定に使用する主観的BMS評価尺度の作製を行う年度である。現在、過去の文献や医療カルテ情報からのBurning Mouth Syndrome（BMS）の患者に対するインタビュー項目の作製が終了し、BMS患者へのインタビューを行っているところである。過去の文献や医療カルテ情報から得られた情報として、BMSでは他の痛みを呈する疾患との違いとして、痛みの強さよりもその持続性を特徴とする。また、食事時に痛みを感じないケースやその逆に香辛料や酸味、味の濃いものなどでしみるような痛みを呈するケースが有る。また、随伴症状として痛みを呈する部位に限局した味覚障害や口腔乾燥症状を訴えるケースが有る。痛みは舌尖部及び舌縁部に多く、続いて口蓋、口唇内側に多い。頬粘膜の痛みを訴えることもあるが、頬粘膜単体での痛みを訴えるケースは稀である。以上の内容をもとにインタビューを続け、本インタビューの結果をもとに、BMSの構成概念の検討及び構成項目の収集を行っていく。また、現在医療カルテ情報からBMS患者の症状部位、属性情報、服用薬剤や全身疾患などのデータの収集を行っている。BMSについては基礎的なデータからかなり報告が少ないため、包括的BMS評価ツール作製のためにデータ収集を続け、必要に応じて基礎的なデータをまとめ、報告を行う予定である。
