自分の持つリーディングスピードより速く読もうとすると字面のみを追いかけ意味が捉えられなくなるが、スピーチ・レートと英文リーディングスピードの大きな乖離の意味するところも同様、自分の持つリーディングスピードよりも速いスピーチ・レートで話された場合、意味の理解が困難になってしまう。本研究ではこの課題を克服するため、自分の持つリーディングスピードを上げることができればより速い音声にも対応できるという理論を検証するためこれまで開発したプログラムを応用している。令和４年度は先に「日本人英語学習者の弱点を集中的に個別矯正する多読・速読プログラムの開発と実践研究(研究課題番号20520507)」で開発したリーディングプログラムPREMAβ(Personal Reading Manager beta)をベースに、学習者の持つリーディングスピードを英文の難易度に合わせて計測・蓄積できる本研究に特化したプログラムを開発する予定であった。しかしながら、運用中の当該サーバー（レンタル）が２０２３年１０月で停止されることが発表され、これまで開発したプログラムおよび蓄積したデータを新規のサーバーに移管する必要に迫られ、その作業が令和５年までずれ込んでいる。令和４年度は「e-ラーニングシステムにおけるテーラーメイド型カリキュラムの自動作成について」（岡山e-ラーニング研究会紀要）の研究論文を発表した。また採択決定後すぐに「日本人英語学習者のリーディングスピードとリスニング力を考える」と題して、同研究会にて口頭発表を行っている。
