项目摘要

2022年度は、本研究の基礎となる史料の収集・読解につとめた。史料用語の「倭寇」は、主として朝鮮・中国に所見するため、『高麗史』『高麗史節要』『朝鮮王朝実録』及び『明実録』を中心に、14-15世紀初頭の「倭寇」に関する記事を収集・整理した。得られた件数自体は先行研究と齟齬があるが、これはカウント方法の違いによるものと考えるため、たちいった考察は来年度以降にまわし、ひとまずは事例の抽出につとめた。日本史料に関しては、まず荒木和憲（代表）『中世日本東アジア交流史関係史料集成（稿）』を通覧し、全体状況の確認を行った。その上で、14-15世紀の「倭寇」が主として対馬や北部九州の人々と密接に関わっていることは同時代の日本・朝鮮・中国の政権の共通した見解である。そのため、対馬を対象に当該地域の人々の実態を探ることを目指した。しかし、対馬関係史料は『鎌倉遺文』『南北朝遺文』『長崎県史』史料編をはじめとする資料集に翻刻が掲載されているものの、全体を網羅したものではなく、ごく限られた研究者を除けば、その利用は限定的であった。そこで2022年度は、基礎史料収集の一環として、すでに翻刻がなされている史料にくわえ、新たに長崎歴史文化博物館「対馬の古文書」、国士舘大学・東京大学史料編纂所所蔵「対馬古文書」の調査・収取を行い、平安時代から16世紀初頭（永正年間）までを主対象に、それらの翻刻を進めている（ただし、権利関係の問題もあり、現時点では公開する予定がない）。この他、「倭寇」と密接関わる問題として、「海賊」及びその統制に関する理論的考察を進めるべく、「海賊」研究の蓄積が豊富な近世の環大西洋世界の状況の理解につとめるとともに、最新の研究成果によりつつ、中近世の東アジア・東南アジア・インド洋世界における港市・交易者と国家・王権の関係性に関する比較史的考察を行った。
