日本の高齢化は、世界最高の水準に達しており、全人口に占める65歳以上の高齢者の比率は、28.53%(2022年)である。これによる社会保障の負担は大きく、年金・医療・介護分野において様々な問題が噴出している。この中でも特に老後の所得保障のための年金制度は重要である。この年金制度の11カ国の国際比較のために“Retirement Income Security in Japan: An Overview of the Public and Private Pension System”, International Comparison of Pension Systems: An Investigation from Consumers’ Viewpoint, Springer, 2022(pp.49-88)を出版した。また、日本は地震をはじめとする自然災害が多い国である。これらの自然災害は、経済の規模とともに大きくなっおり、日本における地震災害は、その対策が急がれている。これらの地震災害を含む自然災害の対策のための韓国の制度を分析して次の論文を発表している。「韓国における新時代の巨大災害とリスク・ファイナンシング : 巨大災害と保険制度を中心に」『保険学雑誌』日本保険学会、第659号

Japan's population growth rate reached the highest level in the world, and the proportion of people aged 65 years or more in the total population was 28.53%(2022).
