2022度は、以下3つの方向で研究を進め、それぞれに一定の成果を得た。①文献研究：新規事業と全社的な変革の関係に関連する文献として主に両利き（ambidexterity)経営に関する研究のレビューを実施した。レビューの結果からは、新規の活動を行う上で、既存の知識の活用と新たな知識の探索を分ける必要や、その分け方に対する複数のタイプがあることが示されていたが、両者をどう結び付けるのかという統合的な観点において研究の蓄積が十分ではないことが示唆された。②組織の分化と統合に関する定量的な検証：入手可能なデータに基づいて、企業における新規事業創出組織の有無とイノベーションとの関係について定量的な検証を行なった。分析結果からは、様々なタイプの新規事業組織を持つことが、企業のイノベーション成果を高めること、組織的施策がその効果を高めることが示唆された。この組織的施策には、既存の組織と新規事業組織とを分化させるタイプの組織施策と両者を統合するタイプの組織施策の両方が重要であることが示唆された。③事例研究：スタートアップ企業を対象として新規事業から競争優位性の構築に至るプロセスについての研究およびケース執筆を実施した。ここでスタートアップ企業を対象としたのは、新規事業そのものの成長を考える上で、どのような要素や過程が必要かについてを明らかにするためである。今後、大企業のように多角化した中で行う場合との対比をするために予備的に採り上げた。分析結果からは、単一の事業による成長というよりもその過程で生じた補完的な活動を組み入れながら、段階的に競争優位性を構築する過程が示唆された。
