本研究の目的は，日本のオープン・イノベーションシステムの特徴を明らかにすることである。具体的には，日米欧の航空機産業の事例をもとに，日本企業のオープン・イノベーションシステムの実態を明らかにする。日米欧の航空機産業クラスターを比較することによって，知識移転，組織能力，競争優位構築においてどのような特徴があるか，それらのメカニズムはどのようになっているのかを明らかにすることにある。2022年度は，研究1年目として，本研究のスケジュールに基づき，日米欧の航空機プライムメーカーの基礎調査および海外調査のための事前準備を実施した。特に日米欧の航空機産業に関する先行研究・文献調査を中心に進めた。まずは本研究の分析の視点である知識移転，組織能力，競争優位構築に関する文献調査をおこない，いままでの理論的な整理をおこなった。そのうえで，航空機産業における日米欧のプライムメーカーを中心とした産業クラスターや産業ネットワークに関する文献調査，航空機産業の研究開発，技術開発，製品開発に関する文献調査をおこなった。またほかの産業クラスターとして自動車産業を取り上げ，その産業クラスターや企業間連携についても文献調査をおこなった。これらの文献調査をもとに名古屋航空機産業クラスターや長野航空機産業クラスターの実地調査をおこなった。
