本研究は、日常生活に近い場面で発生する欺瞞や欺瞞検知を、活動量計を用いた侵襲性の低い形で測定することにより、既存の研究よりも妥当性の高い知見を蓄積することを目指す。これまでの生理指標を用いた欺瞞生起時の生体変化に関する研究は、測定装置の装着のために体動が制限されたり容貌が普段とは大きく異なったりしてしまっていたことから、生態学的妥当性の高いコミュニケーション場面での測定とは言い難い点が問題となっている。それを解決してより日常生活に近い場面において、実験参加者とコミュニケーションの相手に違和感のない状況においで生起する欺瞞と、その際に測定される活動量計指標を観測することを企図している。研究は大きく三つの実験から構成される。本年度は第一実験として、活動量計を装着して普段通りに生活する中で、装着者が欺瞞を発した際に生起する活動量計指標の変化を測定した。複数の活動量計を用いた測定から、現在のところ欺瞞生起時特有の顕著な変化の観測には至っていない。これは各機器の精度、特に時間分解能が十分に高いとは言えないことが問題点として考えられる。一方で、欺瞞生起時の前後どの程度の時間間隔で指標に変化が現れるのか、既存の研究結果を踏まえてさらに詳細な検討が必要である。また、日常生活場面では、会話や体動などの様々な影響が活動量計指標に及ぶため、それらに対しても効果的な統制方法を検討する必要が明らかとなった。
