英文摘要
Facilities Management (FM) ensures the optimum functionality, efficiency, comfort, and safety of the built environment. FM is a complex discipline, frequently outsourced to FM providers, who in turn contract specialist service providers to complete work orders.Whilst promoting collaboration, the sector is fiercely adversarial, with each stakeholder competing to protect/extend their financial share. This drives distrust, division, and lack of (data) transparency, leading to poorer outcomes for all stakeholders.Computer aided facility management (CAFM) software seeks to overcome these challenges by facilitating transparency and accessibility of data and services and enables the deployment of powerful artificial-intelligence and machine-learning tools to support or automate decision making and tasks. However, existing CAFM platforms are rarely used to their full potential and fail to address the underlying needs/challenges of the sector, limited by:* data management structure (FM provider ownership/control, disincentivising collaboration and disempowering facility owners),* data capture techniques (poor automation and requiring time-consuming/manual maintenance), and* platform functionality (limited by poor data quality and richness). We seek to overcome these challenges through development of a worlds-first truly collaborative CAFM platform.
