英文摘要
The coronavirus pandemic has had a "profound" effect on people's mental health. Mental ill health costs the UK economy £70bn annually. Research shows 16 million UK working days are lost to stress, anxiety and depression.Under UK legislation, employers have a responsibility to protect employees from stress at work by providing a preventive and proactive strategic approach to mental wellbeing. Despite the increase in demand, the available mental health solutions for employers are minimal, outdated and not efficient.InsideOut (IO) has developed a mental health support platform and diagnostic tool utilising bespoke matching algorithms to match users to the relevant content (e.g. video sessions, audio, articles), personalised self-help tools and therapeutic professionals (matched on needs, not availability). The platform is proven to reduce symptoms and overcome challenges by 60%. IO have started creating a VR Meditation MVP and conducted user trails.During this project, IO will further develop the VR solution to a comprehensive, personalised XR-based mindfulness programme with integrated evidence-based, clinical proprietary diagnostic and outcome assessment tools. Our XR solution opens up mental health support opportunities to engage a larger population, including lower income, physically disabled, people that live far from mental health centres and work in intense and highly time-demanded jobs.
