Approximately 99% of the private sector businesses in the UK are SMEs, who rely on professional service firms for finance, insurance and legal services - specialisms usually outside their normal areas of expertise - to support their long-term sustainability and growth. Accountants are often the most accessed professional service for SMEs (58% of businesses identify their accountant as their most trusted advisor) and tax is one of the most sought-after areas of advice.However, the sheer volume and complexity of the UK tax code is overwhelming - 1,141 reliefs across 107 individual areas of tax. In reality, only a very small proportion of these reliefs are relevant to an SME -- say, 1%. The problem is that finding 'which 1% is relevant' is a manually intensive and time-consuming process (typically a 2-day task) which invariably means accountants focus on 'obvious' areas of advice, or worse don't review the client at all. This results in risks and opportunities being missed and SMEs not getting valuable tax advice.**On Demand Technology Limited, trading as Tax on Demand ("ToD") have developed AI-based technology capable of automating the manually intensive and time-consuming client review process in a transparent and accountable manner to find the 'relevant 1%' at lightning speed - reducing a 2-day task to just a few seconds.** Helping accountants to identify risks/opportunities and provide clients with increased access to a wider range of services - ultimately delivering a better financial outcome for the SME.
