AV Coatings (AVC) designs and manufactures buoyancy solutions for offshore industries with limited operating depths. These limitations arise from the complexities associated with processing syntactic foam.This project proposes a pour/injected syntactic foam in rota-moulded shells as a solution and is in collaboration with ASTUTE. ASTUTE's technical skills, simulations and experiments will allow us to prepare samples which will be tested and refined until our process is viable for industry use.A successful solution is expected to be achieved, allowing us to mass-produce deep-sea buoyancy modules. Short term, this will expose our company to broader markets within the subsea industry, increasing our revenue. Long term, it is expected that this will benefit the wider Welsh and UK Economies.
