PROJECT SUMMARY
The LAO OH-007 UM1 research group consists of an experienced and innovative multi-disciplinary team of basic
scientists and clinical investigators dedicated to finding effective new therapies for patients with cancer utilizing
the resources available through CTEP NCI. The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center
(OSUCCC) is a comprehensive biomedical research campus with strong collaborations between experienced
investigators from multiple oncologic disciplines and a vibrant pattern of discovery in the basic sciences. The
present consortium includes OSUCCC in collaboration with the University of Kentucky Markey Cancer Center
(MCC) and the University of Utah Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI) with whom they have had strong relationships
in the past, and the University of North Carolina Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center (UNC LCCC) who
joined LAO OH-007 one year ago. This application is being submitted to request additional funds for UNC, an
Affiliated Organization to OSU, an ETCTN UM1 Lead Academic Organization. The funds will allow UNC to
continue to participate in the ETCTN including leadership of two ETCTN studies led by Drs. Claire Dees and
Joshua Zeidner (described in more detail below), continued accrual to ETCTN studies and participating in other
activities including LOI submission and PTMA applications. The present proposal contains a request for funds
to support the efforts of two research coordinators and two investigators. Going forward, there will be a continued
concerted effort to incorporate the UNC LCCC group into the daily workings of its new home LAO so that study
accrual and scientific discovery at this institution can be supported and enhanced. This consortium is committed
to accruing a minimum of 100 patients per year to ETCTN studies and it is foreseen that the addition of the UNC
LCC phase I group will contribute to this goal in a significant manner.

(Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center)
