Line of Departure is disrupting traditional archive-led historical storytelling using games tech to tell true stories of war that couldn't otherwise be told.At a time when the major conflicts of the 20th Century are about to pass out of living memory, Thread Studios are harnessing new technology to preserve first hand accounts and bring these stories to a new generation.Line of Departure will recreate the scenes and people involved in key actions in World War 2 in Unreal Engine, bringing to life stories that have been restricted by the limitations of archive-led storytelling. It will enable us to tell stories of unrepresented groups, or true stories from where archive just doesn't exist because of the danger involved or the passage of time.It's a truly new way for the audience to experience history.
