We have a vision for a more affordable, focused and accessible way for people to get skills in videogame design that can get people hired in the sector.Next Level Up is an intensive peer-based training programme for the video games sector. The programme intends to mirror the experience of working in a real games design studio by having groups of participants with similar discipline-specific skillsets (art, programming, design) work in peer teams, assessing each other's work, providing continuous feedback and creating a safe space for growth. The programme is supported by an experienced industry professional and punctuated with masterclasses and career coaching, creating a unique hybrid model. All of this is delivered online and through a number of technology platforms to create a seamless experience that mimics real-world working practisesThe programme will give students a high-level portfolio piece, industry connections and an expanded multi-disciplinary network in a short time. Participants of the course will get to develop three essential work skills; critical analysis, collaborative working, and self-reflection.We are well placed to capitalise on this solution with an active 20,000-strong community of UK learners looking to break into the games sector, Into games is already the UK's leading non-profit skills and careers service for the UK, connecting to over 100,000 game makers every year through our UK-based events, and our wider work which includes running Europe's largest volunteer network for industry staff and the UK's only virtual work experience programme.Next Level Up will transform how people upskill their way into one of the most exciting and economically important creative industries in the country.
