In this project we aim to understand the mechanisms by which the HIV reservoir is established in resting and activated T cells. The current work involves identifying the molecular mechanisms how HIV infects resting primary CD4 T cells and integrates into the genome. Specific attention is paid to the role of VPR in disabling host proteins.
