The attention that conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV) has received in human rights agendas has not been extended to conflictrelated reproductive violence (CRRV). I have shown in my research that among the different forms of reproductive violence, forced motherhood remains one of the most unattended to as it is assumed to be collateral damage of CRSV and women's natural labour. Forced parenthood (FP), however, is a distinct form of violence experienced by women and trans men after having endured CRSV and forced pregnancies. The case study is Colombia, a country with a robust gender-sensitive transitional justice jurisprudence, where 33,526 people are officially registered as victims of CRSV. As most of them are women from Afrodescendent and Indigenous peoples, and people from the LGBTQ community, this research will focus on their experiences. Through a collaborative, interdisciplinary, intersectional, ethnographic, and arts-based approach the project's three specific objectives are: 1) Offer a comprehensive understanding of FP that considers diverse relational experiences marked by ethnicity/race, class, and sexual orientation and gender identity; 2) Advance knowledge regarding justice and redress in cases of FP; 3) Facilitate knowledge exchange to render visible and address FP as a form of CRRV, as a related but distinct phenomenon to CRSV. The project contributes to debates on gendered victimhood and victimization and reproductive justice, while addressing a knowledge gap regarding FP. The project's outputs include two peer-reviewed articles, a book manuscript, a policy brief on reparations for FP, an ethical methodology guideline to document cases of FP, op-eds in newspapers, a digital archive with survivors' art-based collaborations, a joint exhibition of survivors' art-based collaborations, seminar and conference presentations at international conferences, and gender sensitivity training sessions for PhD students and early career researchers.
