Heterogeneous and long-term effects of social interventions on mortality and psychological health

In this fellowship, I will look at how social interventions targeting education and income can influence health. Policymakers often assume that these interventions will have a beneficial effect on the health of the population that they target, but we do not currently have enough evidence to support this assumption. My fellowship will focus on several education and income interventions across the United States, Ireland, and England. During the fellowship, I will build on my policy evaluation background and gain new skills in epidemiology, genetics and machine learning. This programme of work and training will enable me to understand better when we should intervene, who should be the target of interventions, and how long people should be targeted for to achieve the largest impact on their health.
