Using 'big data' analysis and integration approaches with lipidomics, transcriptomic and proteomic data collected from a large cohort of patients with Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD) this project aims to: 1) identify specific mechanisms of disease, which are amenable to pharmacological intervention; 2) identify accurate diagnostic, staging and prognostic biomarkers that facilitate patient stratification for therapeutic intervention; and 3) create a diagnostic pipeline and software, where samples from the patient can be tested for the presence of diagnostic markers and clinicians can easily analyse and interpret the results through user-friendly online or in-house software applications
