英文摘要
This project investigates whether the aftermath of nuclear disasters and fears of an atomic apocalypse can be connected to, and understood as, a consistent cultural anxiety that circulates transnationally, recurs over time, and is expressed in fiction. Through close readings of French, German, and British audio-visual productions post-Hiroshima (from the 1950s and 1960s) and post-Chernobyl (from the 2010s), as well as building upon original research I have conducted at National Arts Education Archive (at Yorkshire Sculpture Park), these diverse representations will be compared critically through concepts of memory and nostalgia.
