The past decade has seen a significant shift in the public visibility and recognition of Trans individualsacross legal, political, global communities and the media. Through this visibility and recognition, therehave been improvements in and challenges to rights, support, and societal perception. To date, researchregarding trans individuals has primarily focussed on binary medical and psychological support whilstonly scratching the surface of Non-binary gendered people, there lived experiences and supportrequirements and very little regarding Non-binary gendered young people.This project will explore Non-binary gendered young people's experience of support, what support forthese individuals might mean and what changes need to be made to support these individuals better.This project will use a new materialist approach to move beyond the human and psychomedical toInclude and analyse the broader environments, interactions and events and their relation to Non-binarygendered young people and support. The research methods will be semi-focussed interviews andparticipatory action research to allow the participant's voices to be at the core of this research and haveeffective change for the future.
