Revolution in its Narratives; A Critical Study of Post-Revolutionary Narratives of Revolutions in the Middle East

This research project interrogates the rise of irrealistic novels representing revolutions in the Middle East, from the era after the 1967 war until the post-Arab Spring present. I'm interested in how these narratives turn in diverse ways to irrealistic literary forms to respondto the increasing pressures of neoliberalisation that problematise individuals' relations with the collectivities through which resistance takes place - both politically and aesthetically. This project situates itself at the intersection of post-colonial studies and emergent theories of world literature dealing with the structural comparability of these novels written in different national and historical moments.
