This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. The objective of this experiment is to assess the dose response of a new conjugate HBV (hepatitis B virus) vaccine in baboons. This experiment will help determine if the addition of HBsAg-C295 ISS conjugate to free HBsAg can enhance the immune response to HBV surface antigen, and the optimal dose of conjugate for enhanced immune response in baboons. This new HBV vaccine (HBV+ HBsIC) may be beneficial to society since it could improve responses to HBV surface antig
