NORMAL VOLUNTEER BLOOD DONATION

This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. HYPOTHESIS(ES) AND SPECIFIC AIMS: Designed to allow us to draw blood from "normal donor" volunteers. This blood will be used in the laboratory to support basic research relevant to the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), HIV vaccines, or Kaposi's sarcoma-associated herpesvirus (KSHV). In some experiments, antibodies from "normal donor" plasma may be used to study immune responses to HIV or KSHV. In other experiments, white blood cells from "normal donor" blood may used to help grow virus.
