In the original 5-year proposal, we had 3 specific aims. In order to compress some of the work such that it would accomplishable within a 24 month period, we have deleted a part in aim 2, while retaining aims 1 and 3. We also combined parts of aim 2 with aim 3. In addition, to accomplish this work in a shorter time frame, we will need to hire 5 individuals (see Jobs saved or created below). We have selected aims that will contribute significantly to the base of scientific knowledge on this topic. The aims we can accomplish in are numbered and explained below.
