英文摘要
This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. This protocol seeks to study tactile and auditory processing of spatial and non-spatial information in sighted subjects before and following blindfolding for five days. Results will be compared with those of sighted, non-visually deprived subjects. In the sighted subjects, visual versions of the tasks will be used to identify the visual cortical regions engaged in each task at baseline. Each subject will be studied repeatedly over the course of the 5 days of the experiment and hence with-in subject analysis will be applicable, in addition to the group analysis.
