英文摘要
This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. In the United States about 10-15% of couples seek medical help for fertility. The purpose of this study is to better understand male reproduction and how follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) is controlled in the human male. We examine male reproduction by changing hormone levels in healthy normal men and comparing those changes to changes in men who have a disease affecting fertility (GnRH deficiency). The information learned form this study may help develop both new treatments for male infertility as well as provide insight for creating new forms of contraception.
