英文摘要
This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. The purpose of this research is to test whether people who had a large local reaction to a sting will have a smaller local reaction with venom immunotherapy. This is done (if you decide to participate) by having you stung by a honeybee, yellow jacket, hornet, or wasp (based on your previous reaction and your insect allergy test results) under close medical supervision before being immunized and again after a period of treatment (or non-treatment) with venom immunotherapy. Approximately 200 people will take part in this research nationwide and approximately 100 people are expected to take part at the Hershey Medical Center.
