英文摘要
This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. The purpose of this research is to determine if low blood volume (hypovolemia) induced by dehydration will alter the sympathetic nervous system, blood flow to the muscles, and the ability to maintain an upright posture (i.e. standing). This study will also test a possible intervention to stimulate sensors in your inner ear that may help to maintain your blood pressure in the upright posture (i.e. the vestibular system).
