项目摘要
This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the
resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and
investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source,
and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is
for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator.
This collaboration is aimed at the determination of the three dimensional structure of the protein CalC, a small monomeric protein [1]. The 3D structure could yield valuable information for understanding the details of the very specific antibiotic binding and the subsequent reaction, for the design of drugs to overcome the resistance of pathogenic bacteria as well as for anticancer drugs.
