Measured adsorption of Oregon Green-labeled App D49 sPLA2 to the surface of S49 lymphoma cells. Measured labeling of cell membrane with the phospholipid analogue NBD-PC, then measured extraction of NBD-PC with sPLA2 and with BSA. Each of these experiments was performed with and without treating the cells with the drug ionomycin, a calcium ionophore that induces susceptibility to hydrolysis of membrane phospholipids by sPLA2.
