This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. Measured adsorption of Oregon Green-labeled App D49 sPLA2 to the surface of S49 lymphoma cells. Measured labeling of cell membrane with the phospholipid analogue NBD-PC, then measured extraction of NBD-PC with sPLA2 and with BSA. Each of these experiments was performed with and without treating the cells with the drug ionomycin, a calcium ionophore that induces susceptibility to hydrolysis of membrane phospholipids by sPLA2.
