This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. Bayer healthcare, LLC is collaborating with the MIT Spectroscopy Laboratory in the development of near-infrared Raman spectroscopy for the noninvasive measurement of blood glucose. Bayer keeps a dog colony on which glucose clamping experiments can be performed. Dog studies provide an intermediate testing ground on which key instrument upgrades and new technology can be evaluated.
