Bayer healthcare, LLC is collaborating with the MIT Spectroscopy Laboratory in the development of near-infrared Raman spectroscopy for the noninvasive measurement of blood glucose. Bayer keeps a dog colony on which glucose clamping experiments can be performed. Dog studies provide an intermediate testing ground on which key instrument upgrades and new technology can be evaluated.
