The Administration Core supports achievement of the specific aims of the University of Michigan Center for Health Communications Research. The key tasks of the Core are to: (a) set administrative policy, (b) implement and coordinate research activities, (c) foster developmental research, (d) evaluate research productivity, (e) assess progress toward objectives, (f) manage Center finances, (g) oversee the protection of data and human subjects via the Data Safety and Monitoring Board, (h) provide career development and training opportunities, (i) disseminate scientific findings and technological knowledge, (j) communicate with other NCI Centers and outside research collaborators, (k) review the implications of public policy, and (I) foster integration of research findings into clinical settings. Administration (Core A) supports all Research and Developmental Projects in achieving their objectives, collaborates with the other Cores to ensure that the Center functions in a highly efficient and productive manner, and maximizes opportunities for the Cores, Projects, Leaders, and Directors to collaborate. Core A's ultimate purpose is to facilitate the Center's longrange objective of enhancing cancer prevention, detection, treatment, control, and survivorship outcomes.
