This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. The Center on Proteolytic Pathways is intended to be a National Resource. In this spirit, the bulk of our funds specified for training will be dedicated to educating researchers outside of the Center. In the first two years of the Center we will hold an annual 3-4 day training symposium on "Proteolytic Pathways and Proteomics." The symposium will be kept small (50-60 participants) to maximize interactions. The intent of the symposia will be to 1) recruit and retain a new generation of scientists to embark on the study of proteolytic pathways, 2) disseminate the underlying ideas behind the CPP, and 3) learn something about "real world" challenges in the study of proteolytic pathways from the participants of the Symposium
