This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. As part of the PI's research program in drug-induced liver injury, protocols GCRC #2122, 2228, 2265 have been designed to further define the natural history and mechanisms os drug-induced liver injury in humans. As a complement to these clinical studies, the investigative team has been developing laboratory-based protocols to learn more about potential mechanisms of injury. A specific example is exploring the effect of acetaminophen on lymphocytes. This proposal seeks permission to enroll a cohort of 30 individuals who are willing to donate blood repeatedly over the course of the study to be used for these in vitro experiments.
