The Childhood Asthma Management Program (CAMP) Continuation Study 2 (CAMPCS/2) is a four year extension of an ongoing 10 year study of childhood asthma. The original CAMP study was a 4-6 year study of intervention with either budesonide (an inhaled corticosteroid), nedocromil (a non-steroid), or as need bronchodilator therapy alone in the study population of over 1,000 children ages 5-13 years at the time of randomization. The CAMPCS and CAMPCS/2 study is designed to evaluate the effect of this intense treatment period on maximal lung growth and body development.
