项目摘要

Within a wastewater treatment plant large amounts of biosolids are generated along with the capture of many solids of biological origin that were initially present in the wastewater. These solids are usually subjected to an anaerobic digestion process to reduce their mass and volume to minimize their ultimate disposal costs.Anaerobic digestion has the major benefit of converting waste solids into methane gas which can be used for energy- waste is rendered a low-energy resource. Likewise, solid waste (garbage) can be digested to produce methane.Along with methane there are other gaseous products generated in the "biogas" produced from anaerobic digestion. Analysis of biogas is fundamental to assessing anaerobic digester performance and understanding the behavior of the process.A gas chromatograph is a rapid reliable tool for measurement of all components found in biogas. A gas chromatograph is requested to replace an existing 38 year old gas chromatograph that is now expired and unserviceable.
