Prostate cancer is the second leading cancer-related cause of death in North America. Every year about 240,000 new cases are diagnosed and more than 30,000 men die from prostate cancer. Our group has discovered that time series analysis of ultrasound data can provide valuable pathological information about prostatic malignancies. In previously resected prostate cancer specimens, we achieved over 90% accuracy in localizing cancerous tissues. Our current goal is to validate our approach with in vivo studies.
