This proposal is for the development of modeling and simulation tools with applications to pandemic preparedness in critical infrastructures (in this case, health and energy sectors). Specifically, the research is applied to critical infrastructures' prevention, mitigative, and recovery responses in the event of a pandemic. The framework is built upon agent based modeling (ABM) as the core technology, and the research leverages our previous developments in large scale (urban-level) epidemic ABMs, and more recently, institution-level ABMs.
