The growth chamber requested in this application will be used year-round by members of two research laboratories in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Alberta. The chamber will be used to house Arthopods to support studies on sexual signalling in moths and sexual conflict in mites. The growth chamber needs to be large enough to house large numbers of specimens during peak experimental periods. The growth chamber needs to reliably maintain low temperature settings to induce diapause conditions in moth specimens and mimic temperature conditions in acquatic Arthropod studies.
