Distributed generation (DG) based on renewable energy sources (RES) is becoming an increasingly attractive approach to reduce emissions, improve system efficiency, and relief stress on power transmission and delivery infrastructure. These DG systems are connected to the grid through the power electronic interfaces. With today's penetration of DG at an unprecedented speed, the power electronic interfaces are subject to demanding requirements related to the RES, the energy storage system and power quality etc.
