Improving Forest Management Practices in Renfrew County through the use of Mobile Monitoring and testing equipment

This proposal outlines a request for capital resources to support the purchase of a mobile science unit equipped with on-board research instrumentation needed to deliver proposed applied research projects at Algonquin College in the Ottawa Valley located in the City of Pembroke, County of Renfrew. Through expressions of interest from industry, government and a number of non-governmental partners, several collaborative applied research projects have been identified. Two have been chosen to develop applied research opportunities to students within our Forestry Technician Program. Each of the two projects has been developed through collaboration with key local industry partners who stand to gain both economic and knowledge benefits from the partnership with professors and students and through access to the mobile unit and its on-board equipment.
