Increasing global competition has led to the massive outsources of manufacturing businesses from the USA and Canada to other countries. As a result, the manufacturing companies must share a great amount of product data with their partners all over the globe, some of which are their potential competitors. Therefore, the manufacturing companies must protect the information that is critical to maintain their competitive edge, especially in the new product development process. A robust software tool is indispensible in helping the companies to implement a secure collaboration strategy in such a competitive, collaborative, and distributed business environment.
