Neutrinos are some of the most abundant fundamental particles in the Universe. Despite this abundance, the underlying nature of the neutrino makes it extremely elusive. Even with many trillions passing through the human body every second one may never interact with a person in their lifetime. This has made the neutrino very difficult to study but also makes it an ideal messenger from astrophysical sources carrying the original information of its production to the Earth without being deflected or absorbed.
