英文摘要
The main objective of the research proposed here is to examine the effects of the aging processes in reinforced concrete structures within nuclear facilities and to asses the corresponding safety-related margins. Primary mechanisms that can produce premature deterioration of civil structures include those that impact either the concrete or reinforcing steel materials. Degradation of concrete can be caused by chemical and/or physical interaction. Chemical attack may occur in several forms, which include leaching, sulfate attack and alkali-aggregate reactions. Physical mechanisms of concrete degradation include thermal exposure cycles and abrasion/erosion. Degradation of steel reinforcing materials can occur as a result of corrosion, elevated temperature, or fatigue effects. Post-tensioning systems are susceptible to the same degradation mechanisms as steel reinforcement, plus loss of prestressing force, primarily due to tendon relaxation and concrete creep.
