Biodiesel has emerged as a good alternative to petroleum derived materials. This is related to its environmental and hence social and economic gains. An actual limitation of biodiesel is related to its cold flow property which affects its usability in engines, transportation and storage. Biodisel solidifies at low temperature (10 oC and below) making it unusable in many parts of the world with cold winters including Canada.
