The research has two primary objectives (i) to develop a deeper understanding of the ecological processes that foster the persistence of life history variation within populations of freshwater fish; (ii) to assess the role that intra-population life history differences may play in determining sustainable harvest strategies. The focus of the work will be on several species (eg lake trout, yellow perch) that are common across North America and support economically important fisheries in many regions of Canada.
