MW Canada Ltd. is a leading manufacturer of window covering textiles and specialty materials. They create and produce unique custom fabrics with advanced features. One goal of their on-going research and development activities is to incorporate solar cells into window blinds, with forward-looking interests into other types of e-textiles as well. For any electronic function, there needs to be the ability to transfer signals or power across the textile and thus electrical conductivity is required. Currently available conductive textile coatings break down after repeated bends and mask the colour and pattern of the textile underneath. Furthermore, specialized and expensive equipment is needed to deposit these coatings.
