Laundry formulations include a complex mix of ingredients including surfactants, enzymes, builders, pH buffers, bleaches, etc. Dizolve Group Corporation wishes to expand their current offering of highly efficient, low dose, environmentally friendly laundry formulations. Silicones are used to improve the feel of laundry as sizing agents, and they have a very good environmental record. However, little is known about the efficiency of silicone surfactants in stain removal. The Brook group has developed a series of silicone surfactants with precise structure. The purpose of this ENGAGE grant is to explore the utility of these structurally different silicone surfactants, measured against commercially available surfactants, as ingredients in laundry
