ACGT Corporation (ACGT) has developed a market-ready DNA technology for use in medical diagnostics. Detection is achieved by capturing sample DNA in a flowing medium via attachment to beads placed along the flow path. However, the use of these beads is not ideal since extra steps for bead removal are required, but more importantly, the sensitivity of the assay is reduced. To solve these issues, ACGT would like to explore different substrates and attachment mechanisms to simplify the manufacturing process, improve sensitivity, and thereby reduce instrument cost.
