Nicoya is interested in developing methods for the immobilization of peptides and proteins on sensors composed of gold nanoparticles. The immobilized biomolecular probes will be used for the optimization of sensor performance and the investigation of peptide-protein, protein-protein and protein ligand interactions. The results of this investigation will increase the types of life science applications that can be performed by the biosensor platform developed by Nicoya. Successful completion of this project will put Canada in a strong position in developing this useful biosensor platform.
